Jatayu Earth's Center

At Chadayamangalam in Kollam district, a vast stone sculpture of Jatayu lies across a rocky hilltop. In the Ramayana, Jatayu fought Ravana to save Sita; local tradition holds that he fell on this very rock. A cable car carries visitors to the summit for the sculpture and wide views over the countryside.
